Aim Higher Yorkshire and Humber: MyUni Project with Hull University

i-education were engaged, together with Hull University to develop a 3D Virtual Campus to raise the aspirations of 14 to 19 years and provide an insight into the life of a University Student.

The student is immersed with the virtual campus and can walk around, interacting with people and objects. In order to fuse reality with virtual reality, video was used to provide a 'real' interface to the 'virtual' people. Through the various interactions, students are given an insight into university life from a wide range of perspectives and are able to see the differences in teaching spaces at University comparative to their current institutions. Through focus groups the key works 'fun, colorful and interactive' were derived and the campus was built to satisfy each dimension, ensuring the learning was always central to the focus. The project was to be distributed nationally via CD ROMs.
